Feb 7/15 My name is Jennifer Slaunwhite and I am 37 years old. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I first became a racing fan at age 12, when family members began racing. I spent many summers at the tracks. I love going to cheer my cousin on. If we're not watching family members race, we are watching another series race.
I became Austin Dillon's fan when he was in the Camping World Truck Series where he went on to be the youngest Driver ever to win a Championship, in that series. Austin was also very good in the NNS Series, where he also won a Championship. He became a rookie in the SPRINT Cup Series in the #3 for his Pop Pop Richard Childress.
When it was first brought up that he would be in the #3 there was mixed emotions by the fans. The car became famous when it was driven by Dale Earnhardt Sr. Austin was aware of it. He said he wasn't out to ruin the legacy, he was in it for a fresh new car and to make a name for himself, in the car. He wanted that number because it was his Grandad's number.
There are some people out there who say he had his ride handed to him, but he did not. He had to prove himself, just like everyone else. I also love how Austin is a country boy. He loves to hunt and fish. He loves country music. With me living so far out in the country - that impresses me.
I see Austin going far in this sport and I look forward to covering him at NASCARFemale.com, as his OFR.
